                                                                   Charcoal Art

Today we made a charcoal drawing! Now, this charcoal is not just any charcoal that you can buy in the store. THIS charcoal is from our fireplace. We then waited till the charcoal was cooled and then we took it out of the fire pit. We took a rock and drew a picture with the charcoal. Also do you see that bit with red on it? Well that is also a red rock from our front yard. I used it to give my hieroglyphics some color, just like the ancient Egyptians would have done.

                                                    Ancient Rome:  Beeswax Tablet
Here is a chunk of beeswax
Since my sister is studying Rome we made this beeswax tablet. We made it by cutting a piece of paper and drawing a Roman column on it. Then we submerged it in beeswax and took it out to dry. When it is dry you're ready to go. I am learning about Egypt and soon making an Egyptian Empire.

Art: Stress ball
My sister made one of these in grade 4. And I thought it was a good idea.
All you need is some flour and a balloon. You get a funnel and pour the flour into the balloon. You tie it up and you're ready to go.

Art: Bookmarks.
Embossing Technique

Here is my book mark I made. I made this for all the books I read.
Do you see the silver and the mustard yellow? That's embossing powder.
When you heat up the powder it hardens and stays where it is.
